Feeding a cold…….

So the weekend has pretty much been cough, fever, sleeping and soup. My daughter has been sick and this was one of the only things she would eat.
This is just a basic broth soup with lots of flavor and some hearty veggies. This is something my mother-in-law likes to make for us when we visit. It is so nice to eat especially when it is cold. I toned down the flavor to make it easy on the stomach for my baby girl but you can crank it up a notch with just a few added ingredients.

Broth Soup

Yield: 4 Servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Good enough to feed the cold!


2 Potatoes diced

1 Carrot diced

1 Celery diced

4 Cups Water

½  Bouillon cube (any flavor)

Salt for taste


½ cup of diced onion

¼ cup of Parmesan cheese

dried parsley

fresh basil


  1. Heat water over medium, dissolve cube.
  2. Add in potatoes, carrot, celery. (and onion if prefer)
  3. Add salt.
  4. Boil on medium low heat until vegetables are tender.
  5. At this point you can add the cheese or any herb for extra flavor
  6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve and ENJOY!
